Welcome to the U.S. Pretrial Services Office for the District of Massachusetts.
The Massachuetts District Pretrial Services responsibilities is to monitor defendants' compliance with the conditions of release set by the court. These responsibilities include tasks that are designed by the Pretrial Case Officer to manage the risk of the defendant as it relates to the future court appearances and the potential risk to safety of the community at large. Furthermore, it is the responsibility of the Pretrial Services officers to provide assistance..
Supervision activities include but are not limited to office and field contacts with the defendant, collateral contacts with employers, law enforcement agencies, and friends and/or relatives of the defendant, placement in a substance and/or mental health treatment facility, and electronic monitoring.
